At ISWA2024 sustainability will be at the centre of everything we do, we plan to support community initiatives, assist delegates, sponsors and exhibitors in creating a ‘green’ event and help generate business with a positive economic impact, benefitting both society and the environment. The congress will find ways to reduce and mitigate its impact on the environment while advancing the people in solid waste management and providing them with new opportunities. As such we will align to and base our planning and hosting of ISWA2024 on the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) principles, contained in the UN sustainability development goals. Driving our sustainability objectives is our Sustainability Committee, which will ensure the sustainability aims are met while finding fun and entertaining ways to raise awareness around sustainability throughout the planning and hosting of the congress.
